Internship Opportunities

Academia offers a structured internship programme which starts in January, May, and August each year. The programme runs between 3 to 6 months and allows students to find out more about teaching, curriculum development, design, and operations. Students in our internship programme are considered favorably for conversion into our Training Contract or other full-time roles upon graduation. Outside of the formal programme, Academia also accepts off-season interns, who are attached directly to senior teachers or managers.

Roles

We regularly take on interns for the Curriculum and Teaching department and the Design Department.

Our Curriculum and Teaching internship has a focus on curriculum design, review methodologies, and the provision of feedback on student work. You will become deeply familiar with the Ministry of Education learning objectives, grading criteria, and changes in curriculum at the specific student levels that you are placed in.  Interns will also have the opportunity to observe the curriculum design process, where they will gain an understanding of Academia’s educational philosophy, and proprietary approach to curriculum development. In addition, interns will be involved in the weekly teacher meetings, where they will gain a perspective on how teachers are able to collectively troubleshoot their challenges from the week before.

Our Design internship has a focus on instructional design, both in terms of UI/UX on our Cogito virtual environment, as well as in terms of graphic design for our materials and worksheets. Interns will gain experience by working directly with our head of design and with a number of service providers to develop materials and interfaces that reduce the occurrence of user error and confusion.
