Benefits at Academia

Our benefits go beyond free food and flexible schedules. We invest in our people so they can live their best lives at work and at home. All full-time employees who have passed their probation are provided with the full suite of benefits listed here, and more.

Leave Entitlement

Full-time employees are entitled to 14 days of paid leave per year, and this increases by 1 day per year employment at Academia, up to a maximum of 28 days. While teachers are strongly encouraged to clear leave during school closure periods, as a collective Academia does have a robust system of cover for teachers who need to take leave during term time. We expect this system to become increasingly flexible as Academia grows larger.

Statutory Benefits

As one would expect, employees are also entitled to their statutory leave benefits, such as outpatient sick leave and hospitalisation leave. The most up-to-date guidelines and entitlements can be found on the Ministry of Manpower website.
 

Additional Entitlements

In addition to the statutory benefits, employees who have passed their probation are entitled to 3 days of congratulatory marriage leave. On the flip side, in the unfortunate event that becomes needed, employees are also entitled to 5 days of compassionate leave.
